-FIXME+Astro Boy appeared in the 1960's series as the main character. After Astor Boynton dies in a car crash, Dr. Boynton creates a robot in Astor's image, and proceeds to teach him all there is to know. However, due to Astor's inability to grow as a normal human child, Dr. Boynton sells him to Hamegg (Dr. Kachetori) as part of the Robot Circus (Who renames him Astro Boy). During his first performance, he demonstrates flight and great strength whilst fighting a giant robot named Zog. However, while Dr. Elefun (A scientist who was in the crowd.) disapproves of making him fight, Hamegg points out he has all the necessary paperwork, and proceeds to punish Astor for his incompetent performance due to the fact that he did not destroy Zog, and does not give him energy. Upon exiting the room, he is greeted once more by Dr. Elefun, who states that Dr. Boynton has resigned from head of the Science Ministry and that Dr. Elefun will be taking his place. Meanwhile, while Astro Boy looks around the circus, he finds some robots that have no energy. They proceed to explain that they're being sold, and when a robot is no longer popular, they are sold to a scrap dealer. Astro proceeds to give everyone some of his energy. Meanwhile, Hamegg and Dr. Elefun are still bickering over whether Hamegg should hand Astro over or not, an argument which Hamegg wins. The scene cuts to a performance by the robot circus, however, when a robot jumps through an electric hoop, it accidentally catches fire and explodes. The robots help the humans escape, when they realize Dr. Kachetori is missing. Astro goes in to help him escape, but his energy is low from helping all the humans and the other robots, causing him to pass out. The scene cuts to Dr. Kachetori in a hospital, where Dr. Elefun informs him that robots are free, taking away his ownership of Astro Boy. The episode ends with Dr. Kachetori crying, and Astro and Dr. Elefun leaving the hospital.
