When the first expedition to Mars fails because of a mutiny by the crew, [[characters:Astro]] is appointed commander of the second expedition. His own crew grows rebellious because he is a robot, however, when his chief officer cut his safety rope, when a strange spaceship crashed onto their rocket, Astro Boy went to investigate only to realize that his safety rope has been cut.
