Check it out -- one inch taller and about 30 lbs. heavier than Astro Boy. Could it be packing rocket feet and butt guns?? They are kinda vague about what it's going to be used for.

I think the problem doesn't lie with what the robot looks like but what the robot is going to be used for?

Iran has a terrible track record and they make the news every other day relating to disagreements with the UN or nuclear infrindgements etc.
Now I'm not saying that the people who built this robot are bad but it is possible that this machine along with anything else built may be used for ill intentions or be played as a distraction to other such things.... anyway

As far as looks go though, I'd be pretty sure in saying they may have had some inspiration from other existing robots or perhaps even had a professional relationship with one or more leading robotics producers etc. Hard to say much with the lack of information though.

Oh and for the record. I am pretty sure that any Iranian robot would be male, don't ask.
