Alvin

Alvin (Shibugaki in Japanese) is one of Astro's classmates in both the 1980s and 2003 series. In the latter, his English name was changed to Abercrombie. However, their Japanese name is the same, implying they are the same character.

Despite being a bully, he isn't evil.

Alvin is depicted as the school bully. He constantly bullies Theodore (Alejo in the 2003 series' English dub) as well as other children. He is also the leader of the bullies, shown during a class election where almost half the class voted for him, although Astro cast the final vote against him, meaning he could not become class president.

In the 2003 series, Alvin (now known as Abercrombie) was changed, although he is still large and borderline obese. Just like the 1980s series, he at first turned down Astro but later befriended him. He is also shown (surprisingly) to be friends with the very kid he bullies, Alejo.

In the 1980s series, he is voiced by Kazuya Tatekabe in the Japanese version.

In the 2003 series, he is voiced by Susumu Chiba in the Japanese version and by Sandy Martin in the English version.
