I do not like the art. It deviates from Tezuka's style too much.

I've tried to see the appeal in it, but I feel a bit disappointed.

Astro, Elefun & the dog look all right, and I think I'm getting used to Tenma and the kids, but the Pixar look is a little distracting. I can only imagine what kind of reception this movie will get in Japan...

But still, I'm not giving up on this movie with only five months to go. As long as there's no pain humour or gross-out humour, it will have me.

Cora looks so out of place it's not funny. Also, Astroboy sounds more like Astroteen. Still it looks like it could be enjoyable.

I like that Promo video. Makes me feel like Imagi has a good understanding of what they're working with. Better than past Anime movies (coughdragonballcough)

I get the feeling Japan's not going to like this no matter what they do with it. The character is just too important to them. As for the pain and gross-out humor, I say everything in moderation. I mean, I recall a Manga where Atom fights a robot that peed Nitroglycerin so a little low brow humor wouldn't be bad just as long as they don't over do it.
